Downtown and Main Square
Eger’s baroque-style main place is always full of life. The square in the heart of the city, together with the surrounding streets, has been beautifully renovated. In summer, it has a real Mediterranean atmosphere, and the fountain at the beginning of the square provides refreshment on warm days.
Basilica
The Basilica of Eger , also known as st. Michael’s and St. John’s Cathedral, is the third largest church in Hungary. The beautiful structure was designed by Joseph Hild. The building lasted from 1831 to 5 years, and the building was consecrated in 1837.
Eger Castle
The castle of Eger is the defining structure of Hungarian history, justly the most famous Hungarian castle. The István Dobó Castle Museum hosts many interesting exhibitions.
Beautiful Woman’s Valley
Just a 25-minute walk from downtown Eger is the Szépasszonyvölgy. With its cosy cellars and famous wines of Eger, it invites visitors to a cosy walk.
Archiishop’s Palace
Since 2016, the Archbishop’s Palace of Eger has been a cultural, tourist and visitor centre. At the special exhibition of church art, we can look at the daily lives of bishops and archbishops.

Upper Tatras is located 11 km from Eger at the foot of the Beükk, with its wonderful panorama and natural ness, it is one of the favorite hiking spots of eger. The jewel of the settlement is the charming Rock Spring and Lake, where you can picnic, fish and see forest trails.

Szilvásvárad, Szalajka Valley
Szilvásvárad is located in Bükk, only 30 kilometers from Eger. In the Salajka Valley, which is also accessible by the small train, one of the symbols of the settlement is the picturesque Waterfall of the Veil, as well as the Rock Spring, the Stables Stone Cave, Upper Lake, Trout Lakes and the Szalajka Spring.
